Three policemen were injured in stone pelting during a communal clash in Gujarat’s Vadodara district on Sunday morning.

Nearly 300 persons from two communities clashed with each other on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Vadodara’s Akota area. When a procession crossed Rampura area, a religious banner propped up on a tempo using bamboos happened to brush against another banner, which was put up on the house of a person from another community, resulting in a skirmish. The police lathicharged and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.

A case of rioting has been registered against nearly 300 unknown persons, the police said.
