Three injured as flyover collapses

Under-construction flyover collapsed

Three labourers were injured after a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed in the Basti district of eastern Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

The flyover is located on National Nighway 28 near the Phutaiyya crossing.

As per the district administration, a slab of the flyover collapsed between 7 a.m. and 7.30 a.m.

Major tragedy averted

A major tragedy was averted as not many people were around. Only three persons were present at the site at the time of the incident, the district administration said.

While one person, who was on duty in the night shift, was injured and rescued from the debris, the other two were provided preventive and precautionary treatment, District Magistrate Raj Shekhar said.

The Police identified the injured as Dharmendra, Suresh Rai and Pradeep. The injured were taken to the district hospital.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered swift action and proper treatment of the injured.
