Theatrical gimmick: BJP

October 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday criticised Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for hosting a meet of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs along with their families. The party slammed the CM for “wasting exchequers money on such parties while adopting a pick and choose policy in dealing with its corrupt ministers.”

Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta alleged that Mr. Kejriwal is acting more like a “stuntman” who just wants to be seen fighting corruption rather than actually working towards getting rid of the issue within AAP and the government. “In today’s meet of MLAs and their families, tainted ministers such as Jitender Tomar, Manoj Kumar, Somanath Bharti were invited while Asim Ahmad was kept out of it. The entire set up was organised as a face saving exercise for the Delhi CM who wants to clear his own image in the eyes of the public. The meet was nothing more than a theatrical gimmick on corruption,” he said.

Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay opposed the “At Home” by calling it a waste of public money. “It is strange that despite Mr. Kejriwal speaking of high moral values organised this ‘At Home’ which includes anarchists, cheats, wife bashers and scheduled caste abusers,” he said.
