Panic gripped the city and undeclared curfew like situation prevailed in some areas after some unidentified persons on Monday allegedly tried to cause damage to two places of worship, police said.
Some unidentified persons damaged the boundary wall of a place of worship in Chintamani area here. In Ararawari locality, some persons stir up mischief by bursting crackers inside the premises of another place of worship, they said.
The situation is under control, and police and administration are keeping a tight vigil to prevent any untoward incident, District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha said.
