Beginning October 1, the Chief Electoral Office of Delhi is commencing a special summary revision of electoral rolls and those who would attain the age of 18 years by January 1, 2016 can apply.

Also, the electoral office would publish the draft electoral roll on Thursday and voters can check their names and other details at more than 1,600 designated locations across the city at polling stations, offices of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of respective Assembly constituencies and also on the website of CEO Delhi.

In case voters find any errors in their details in the electoral roll, they can submit claims or objections till October 30 at the voter centre of their Assembly constituency. The final electoral roll will be published by the electoral office on January 11, 2016.

In a statement, the electoral office said that the draft electoral roll has been prepared after rationalisation and re-organisation of polling stations and integration of supplementary lists and as a result, serial numbers and polling stations and booth locations of some voters might have changed. The electoral office has advised all voters to check their details on the electoral list carefully.

At present, there are total 1,32,06,740 voters in Delhi, including 73,19,218 male voters, 58,86,683 female voters and 839 voters in the Others category. The gender ratio of voters in Delhi is 804.

The electoral office said that during the summary revision, the focus would be on maximising electoral participation amongst the youth, women and marginalised sections of the city.

To achieve this objective, special camps for enrolment of women, youth, the homeless and migrant workers will be organised.

Special enrolment camps for youth shall be held in schools, colleges and other educational institutions. Labour chowks have been identified to hold special camps for enrolment of migrant workers.
