Scores of girl students were injured in north Kashmir’s Sopore when students clashed with security forces.

Protests broke out when students of a school hit the streets and raised anti-India slogans. At least five injured female students were treated at a hospital. In Srinagar, students of the Kashmir Government Polytechnic College clashed with the security forces.

Separatist leaders condemned the use of “excessive force” on the civilian population and called for protests on Friday over the Shopian crackdown.
