The Rajasthan police have registered a first information report against six senior students of a reputed public boarding school in Ajmer on charges of sexually abusing a Class XI student. The victim was allegedly drugged and sodomised multiple times last month in the school’s hostel.
The case was registered on Tuesday under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 377 (unnatural offences) of Indian Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father. The student, a newcomer to the school, reportedly fled from the hostel on July 26 and narrated his ordeal to his family members.
“Each time they (seniors) sexually abused my son, they forced him to take drugs. They threatened him with dire consequences if he told anyone about the incident,” the victim’s father stated in his complaint lodged with the police.
No action yet
While the police have launched investigation, the school has refused to comment on the alleged incident. No action has been initiated so far against the students accused of having committed the crime.
