February 22, 2014 06:31 pm | Updated November 26, 2021 10:24 pm IST - Mumbai:

In an attempt to woo the voters facing displacement due to the massive Jaitapur nuclear power project, Shiv Sena youth wing leader Aditya Thackeray has promised that the party will return the entire land to the farmers, if voted to power.

He was talking during a road rally held in the state's coastal district of Sindhudurg on Saturday.

There is public anger against the project and many violent agitations were held at the plant site in the past. The young Thackeray scion undertook a rally in Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri on Saturday.

Mr Thackeray also took a dig at Maharashtra cabinet minister Narayan Rane's son Nitesh Rane who had challenged him about entering the coastal belt. "I don't care about such threats. I will pardon such childish people a hundred times. But if anyone dares to touch even a single Shiv Sainik, they know they will not be spared," he said, while referring Nitesh Rane and Swabhiman Sanghatana.
