7 killed in Shimla bus accident, 21 injured

At least seven people have been killed and 21 others injured when a State Transport Corporation bus veered off the road at Gajehri near Theog in anterior Shimla on Friday morning.

The bus was on its way from Shimla to Sharontha village at Tikker in Rohru tehsil. Those who were seriously injured have been referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital in Shimla. The rescue operation is still on and the police along with local villagers are transferring the injured to the hospitals at Theog and Shimla.

All the bodies and the injured have been identified, said the police.

The cause of accident is yet to be ascertained. The driver suddenly lost control when the bus rolled down on the steep downhill drive from Theog to Chaila, said locals.
