The Shiv Sena MLAs will meet on Sunday afternoon to decide whether to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state government in Maharashtra or not. The MLAs will also chose the leader of the legislature party.

The Sena leadership on Saturday had clarified that it will not participate in today's expansion of central cabinet, if the BJP fails to assure the Sena's share in the state government.

The party has recommended its MP Anil Desai's name for the central cabinet expansion. Mr. Desai has left for Delhi from Mumbai and is likely to hold talks with the BJP leadership.

Just few days after Union Cabinet expansion the BJP led government in the state faces confidence motion. It is 22 MLAs short of majority. While one option is to take support of the Sena which has 63 MLAs, the NCP which has 41 members have extended unconditional support to the government.
