The Rajasthan Sarpanch Sangh has demanded an apology from Divya Maderna, the first-time Congress MLA from Osian in Jodhpur district, after a video clip went viral, purporting to show her refusing to share the dais with a woman Sarpanch at an event. Chandu Devi of Khetsar village sat on the floor after Ms. Maderna refused to allow her to take the seat beside her at a Dhanyawad Sabha, or a thanksgiving assembly. Ms. Maderna, daughter of the former Minister, Mahipal Maderna, an accused in the Bhanwari Devi murder case, has said she could not recognise the Sarpanch who was in veil and who had not introduced herself.
