Sai Paranjpye Films Festival to be held in Goa

Sai Paranjpye Films Festival will be held in Goa by State-run Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) in association with Goa Cinephile Film Club on March 8 as part of the International Women's Day celebrations.

The festival will be inaugurated in the presence of the renowned movie director and screenplay-writer Ms. Paranjapye in the city. It will be held from March 8 to 10 at ESG, and on March 9, 10 in Vasco in South Goa.

The film festival will screen Sai’s National award-winning movies Sparsh , Katha , Chashme Buddoor and Disha . The Government of India had awarded her the Padma Bhushan title in 2006.

The film festival will open with Sparsh , said Mr. Rajendra Talak, vice chairman of ESG, on Monday.

The International Women's Day film festival was started last year by ESG with filmmaker Sumitra Bhave's films.
