When Raman Singh is sworn-in as Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, for the third time, on Thursday morning, one thing could be on top of his mind — how to put a Council of Ministers in place within the next 72 hours?
According to Hindu calendar Kharmas, an additional month will start on December 16, during which no auspicious work could be undertaken. So, by the beginning of the next week, the Cabinet will have to be sworn-in, explained a BJP leader. However, selecting his team should not be a big problem for Mr. Singh as more than a dozen senior leaders have won, even though five Ministers and half-a-dozen senior leaders have lost the elections. It is expected that by the time he leaves for Delhi, Mr. Singh will be able to shortlist the names.
Meanwhile, the entire national leadership of the BJP, including the prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and party president Rajnath Singhwill be in Raipur for the swearing-in ceremony.
