BJP will get majority in Delhi: Rajnath

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said BJP would get full majority in Delhi assembly elections.

“'BJP will emerge victorious in the Delhi polls...We will give stable government in Delhi that will work for overall development of the city,” he said in Lucknow after flagging off a new tri-weekly train — Lucknow-Kathgodam Express.

Referring to law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in Lucknow that has seen over 15 murders in the past one month, Mr. Singh said the crime scenario was grim and asked the state government to pay special attention to improve policing and check growth in crime cases.

The minister thanked Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha, who was also present on the occasion, for giving the much-needed train that provides direct connectivity between Lucknow and Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The Railway Budget that would be presented later this month would have lot in store for the people of Uttar Pradesh, particularly Lucknow, he said.

Assuring Mr. Singh that the railways was committed to provide better facilities to people, Mr. Sinha said: “There are many things lined up (to be announced in the railway budget)...I will not reveal it now.” He also announced a cash prize of Rs.1.5 lakh for the officials and employees involved in the new train project that was flagged off.
