Administration officials and the police raided a flour mill and two godowns in Aga street area of Berhampur on Friday night to unearth an alleged racket of misuse of subsidised wheat meant for Public Distribution System (PDS).

The officials seized around 300 bags of wheat from the two godowns. The flour mill and two godowns were sealed off. The owners are being interrogated by the police. The officials are also investigating the source of the seized wheat. According to sources, based on a direct complaint, Berhampur Sub-Collector had ordered the raid. It was alleged that some of the subsidised wheat released from local government warehouse had been diverted to some private flour mill owners.
