A technical snag on a Kolkata-bound Air India flight resulted in a priority landing for the plane at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here on Sunday. The flight, coming in from Port Blair, was carrying 69 passengers on board. It was about to land at 10.15 a.m. when the windshield cracked. As a precautionary measure, the flight was given a priority landing by the Air Traffic Control, said Pulok Mukherjee, spokesperson for the airline.
Mr. Mukherjee said sudden pressure differences, due to the drop in altitude, can cause such a crack. No passenger was harmed and the aircraft did not suffer any serious damage.
