: Pre-monsoon rains lashed several parts of Odisha providing respite from the blistering heat wave in Odisha where 44 persons died of sunstroke on Friday.
Parts of Odisha have received rains since Thursday night, slightly bringing down the temperatures. Cloudy sky prevailed in almost all districts as southwest monsoon is likely hit the State on June 14.
A couple of days ago many towns in Odisha were reeling under the scorching heat. Mercury level soared beyond 40 degree Celsius in many western Odisha towns.
Friday, however, saw a different weather situation. None of the Odisha towns had temperature above 40 degree Celsius mark. The highest temperature was recorded in Bhawanipatna at 38.2 degree Celsius.
