Continuing his attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the people had lost faith in him.

Addressing a function here, the Chief Minister claimed he had been victimised by the Congress. “Congress has used its agencies to target me, whether it is the Central Bureau of Investigation or the Intelligence Bureau. The CBI can muzzle Mayawati and Mulayam but not me.”

He demanded the Congress to step aside for the BJP to take over the government at the Centre.

“It’s because the government is corrupt that the poor don’t have food to eat. The common man has had to suffer at the hands of the Congress governments at the Centre and the State[Maharashtra],” Mr. Modi added.
