Despite being denied permission to hold a public rally in Barh, expelled Rashtriya Janata Dal MP and leader of newly launched Jan Adhikar Morcha, Pappu Yadav, on Saturday demanded a CBI inquiry into the “misdeeds” of arrested JD(U) MLA Anant Singh.
Earlier, when the district administration stayed his proposed public meeting at Barh citing law and order issues, the expelled RJD MP from Madhepura announced a march to the Raj Bhavan to demand a CBI inquiry into the criminal activities of Anant Singh, who was arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days on Wednesday in connection with an abduction case.
Braving incessant rain, Mr Yadav with his hands chained and mouth tied with black ribbon, led a march of party leaders and supporters despite the monsoon rains. He submitted a memorandum to Governor K.C. Tripathi listing alleged misdeeds of Anant Singh during the last 10 years of Nitish Kumar’s regime.
“The Governor gave a patient hearing to our demands and assured action,” he told journalists. He slammed the Nitish-Lalu regime in the State and said it was trying to save Anant Singh. “Besides, the government has also been throttling my democratic right to hold a public meeting” he said.
