With all arrangements complete for the first phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir, 19 candidates would be trying their luck in a multi-cornered contest in Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat on Thursday.
There is, however, not even a single woman candidate contesting for the seat. In Udhampur-Doda too, where polling would be held in the second phase on April 17, none of the 13 contestants is a female.
However, two of the three seats in Kashmir valley —Anantnag-Pulwama and Srinagar-Budgam— which would go to polling on April 24 and 30 respectively, there are two female candidates.
