NCP leader Govindrao Adik passes away

Senior NCP leader and former Maharashtra Minister Govindrao Adik passed away at a hospital here on Saturday evening.

Adik, 76, is survived by wife, son and three daughters. Family sources said he had been admitted to Bombay Hospital a few days ago following a lung infection.

The final rites were conducted at his native village in Ahmednagar district.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said: “We have lost a senior leader in Govindrao Adik. He will be remembered for his work in agriculture and cooperation.”

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde said Adik would be remembered for his work to promote the welfare of the working class, farmers and labourers.

Adik was earlier with the Congress.
