PDP patron and Jammu and Kashmir's next Chief Minister, Mufti Sayeed, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday morning in New Delhi to formally seal the deal between PDP and BJP. The swearing-in ceremony will be held on March 1 in Jammu.
"Mufti sahib has left for Delhi and he will be meeting PM Modi tomorrow and we will soon have a government in the State," a senior PDP leader told The Hindu.
After reports of last minute hitches between the two parties on Wednesday, there were rumors that the Mufti-Modi meeting might be rescheduled, but both PDP and BJP sources confirmed that all issues have been sorted outand the two leaders will be meeting on Friday.
J&K has been under the Governor's rule for almost two months now, and with the PDP-BJP coalition forming the government, the BJP will come to power in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in the country's history.
