More trouble for Salman

April 09, 2015 12:29 am | Updated November 16, 2021 05:10 pm IST - MUMBAI:

Even as the final arguments in the 13-year-old hit-and-run case against actor Salman Khan are under way, a court order could spell fresh trouble for him. The Mumbai police are in the process of booking the actor for criminal intimidation and robbery after an Andheri court directed it to do so.

Following a complaint by Ravindra Moorat Dwivedi, who had alleged that Mr. Khan and his bodyguard, Vishal, had assaulted him on board a Mumbai-Delhi flight on November 4 last year, the court ordered the airport police station to investigate the matter and file a report at the earliest. The order was issued on Monday.

Mr. Dwivedi had first approached the police two days after the alleged incident. He is believed to have told the police that the two accused snatched important documents pertaining to the death of BJP leader Gopinath Munde, which he was carrying to hand over to the government.

He then moved the Andheri court stating that the airport police refused to register a case.
