Maoists torch country liquor making unit

: A country liquor manufacturing unit was raided by a group of 20 armed naxals in Bolangir district of Odisha on Friday night.

The incident took place at Telenpali village under Khaprakhol block of Bolangir district.

Although no casualty was reported in the naxal attack, the Maoists torched the liquor-making unit and fled with cash. Country liquor damaged in naxal attack is stated to be worth over Rs. 30 lakh.

Refuge

Khaprakhol is close to Odisha’s Sunabeda Sanctuary, which is contiguous to Chhattisgarh. Left-wing extremists often stray into the sanctuary after carrying out violent activities in Chhattisgarh.
