Man held with explosives

The Pune Crime Branch police claim to have found arms and explosives in the possession of Gopal Khatri, a local trader, who was arrested late on Saturday night.

Crime Branch Senior Police Inspector Sunil Deshmukh claimed that 1 kg of ammonium nitrate, 10 detonators, eight gelatin sticks, one pistol, and three indigenous rifles were found in the car that he was driving at the time of the arrest.

The operation was carried out by the Crime Branch after a tip-off. Khatri was produced in the local court, which remanded him in police custody till September 20. Sources in the Crime Branch said two more units were on the lookout for Khatri's accomplices.
