The Delhi Police, assisted by the Thane police, on Wednesday arrested a person on charges of attacking the former media adviser to the Prime Minister and veteran journalist, Harish Khare.

But the Thane police refused to confirm in which case Gautam Virendra Singh was arrested from his parents’ house in the Ram Nagar slums here. “We do not know in which case he has been arrested. The operation was conducted by a team of the Delhi Police. We only assisted them. The police had come with the necessary warrant. They have arrested one accused,” Police Commissioner K. P. Raghuwanshi told The Hindu . Mr. Khare was assaulted and robbed of some cash and his wristwatch by two young men in the Ridge area at Civil Lines in North Delhi on July 6.
