A person has been booked here for allegedly posting a morphed photograph on a social networking site showing an SP MLA raising pro-Pakistan slogans, police said on Wednesday.

SP MLA Irfan Solanki said that he noticed a picture on Facebook which looked like a news footage of a national news channel and showed him raising pro-Pakistan slogans.

The channel’s logo and the news anchor were also visible in the picture, he said, adding that when he approached the channel’s local reporter, he denied of running any such news.

The head office of the channel also denied of running any such story. When the photo was inspected thoroughly, it was found to be morphed, the MLA said.

One Ambrish Gupta, a resident of Hullaganj, had allegedly posted the morphed picture on Facebook which then went viral, Mr. Solanki said.

He also alleged that Gupta, a BJP worker, had posted the picture to tarnish his image.

The reporter complained against Gupta and the morphed picture to the Crime Branch in Kotwali police station, Senior Superintendent of Police Shalabh Mathur said. On the basis of the reporter’s complaint, an FIR has been registered, the SSP added. - PTI
