A day after he cancelled his plan to meet the family of the two Dalit children who were burnt alive by members of the Rajput community, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met the father of the deceased on Thursday. Barely 10 minutes after that, Swami Agnivesh too paid a visit to the family.

Not just that, after meeting the family of the toddlers, Mr. Khattar met the wives of the three persons from the Upper caste Rajput community who were murdered in October last year.

Mr. Khattar assured both the parties that the CBI investigation in the case would begin at the earliest. "CBI will investigate the matter and the process shall start soon," he said.

The Haryana CM has in fact pushed for investigation into the entire longstanding feud between the two families which dates back to October last year.

Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Jitender who burnt his hands during the incident on Tuesday said, "The CM has promised swift investigation into the case. The Rs. 10 lakh cheque given to me does not matter. I can give away my organs if it is needed to give justice to my children."

Meanwhile, the three widows of the Rajput community demanded justice for their husbands who were killed allegedly by Jitender's family. The extended Dalit community of the locality too staged protest against Mr. Khattar as they alleged of being repeatedly threatened by members of the upper caste.
