Justice Milap Chand Jain dies

Former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Milap Chand Jain died at his residence here after a brief illness.

Mr. Jain, who was also the Lokayukta of Rajasthan, died on Wednesday at the age of 86.

He is survived by his son and two daughters.

His last rites were performed at a crematorium in Shyam Nagar locality here, family sources said.

Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje condoled the death of Mr. Jain.

Floral tributes were paid to Mr. Jain on behalf of the Governor Singh, a Raj Bhawan release said. In her condolence message, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje praised Jain’s “effective and impressive” style of functioning. - PTI
