Justice Manisana passes away

Rajkumar Manisana, the former Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, chairman of the National Human Rights Commission and chairman of newspapers and news agencies wage board, died in a private hospital in Imphal on Thursday. He was 82.

Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court Laxmi Kanta Mahapatra and many others have condoled his death. He held many important posts including that of public prosecutor, advocate general in Manipur before being sworn in as the Judge in the Gauhati High Court on November 21, 1984. He was appointed the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court on January 24, 1994.
