Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh rode pillion on a two-wheeler on Sunday, going around underdeveloped villages in the Naxal-affected Jhumra Hills area of Jharkhand.
After the visit, he said the Centre would soon announce the Jhumra Action Plan (JAP) to develop the villages of the three contiguous districts.
“The JAP, costing Rs. 250 crore-Rs. 300 crore, will soon start in the villages falling under Bokaro, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts, sharing borders with the Jhumra forests,” he told journalists here.
“Naxalism will go away once development reaches the villages,” he said.
