An Israeli national, David Driham ailas Dudu, on Wednesday, was allegedly attacked by a water sports operator and his aides at Anjuna beach in north Goa, for damaging a jet ski during a joyride, according to a complaint filed at the Anjuna police station.

Mr. Driham had been arrested for drug peddling in 2010 and acquitted by a trial court later.

The water sports operator, Mahesh Gadekar, in a counter complaint alleged that it was Mr. Driham who first attacked and verbally abused him.

The police said that both complaints were taken on record and the incident will be probed.

According to police complaints, Mr. Driham hired a jet ski on Wednesday on the assurance that he would not take it towards the rocky area of the beach.

Mr. Driham has been admitted to a local government hospital for treatment, the police said.
