Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala on Sunday said the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) will put in all efforts to ensure that Mayawati of the Bahujan Samaj Party becomes the country’s next Prime Minister.
Mr. Chautala, who is out on two-week parole, was addressing a rally held at Gohana in Panipat to mark the 105th birth anniversary of senior INLD leader Devi Lal.
Mr. Chautala is serving a 10-year jail term in a teachers’ recruitment scam.
Mr. Chautala said during his parole period, he would meet people and ensure that a third front was formed. “Once the INLD-BSP alliance is voted to power, the old age pension will be increased to ₹3,000 per month,” he said.
Leader of the Opposition in Haryana Assembly Abhay Singh Chautala requested people of Haryana to help and support the INLD-BSP alliance to come to power.
