The Indian National Lok Dal on Wednesday expelled party’s general secretary and former member of Parliament Ajay Chautala from the party. The party’s Haryana president Ashok Arora announced the expulsion here during a press conference.

“Party has decided to expel Mr. Ajay Chautala from the primary membership of the party as he has been involved in anti-party activities,” said Mr. Arora adding that “Mr. Chautala also stands expelled from the post of secretary general of the party.”

Amid ongoing feud in the Chautala family, which steers the Indian National Lok Dal in Haryana, Dushyant Chautala, who is INLD MP from Hisar seat and son of Ajay Chautala had last week alleged that a conspiracy has been hatched to throw him out from the party and break the party.

Earlier, an official statement on behalf of INLD national president Om Prakash Chautala had said that Dushyant Chautala and Digvijay Singh — both sons of Mr. Ajay Chautala — have been expelled from the primary membership of the party for indulging in ''indiscipline'' during the birthday celebrations of Chaudhary Devi Lal on October 7 at the rally in Gohana.

With widening rift between Ajay Chautala and his younger brother Abhay Singh Chautala, who is currently leader of Opposition in Haryana Assembly, a meeting of former MPs, MLAs and other office bearers has been called by Mr. Ajay Chautala on November 17 to announce about a future course of action.
