IED blast in Chhattisgarh kills CAF constable

A constable of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) was killed in an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast in restive Bijapur district of south Chhattisgarh on Thursday.

“Constable Samund Devangan of CAF’s 13th battalion was injured when a pressure IED exploded near Pandemurga village under Nelasnar police station. He was first airlifted to Dantewada and then to Raipur for treatment. However, he succumbed to injuries,” Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police, I. Kalyaan Elesela told The Hindu .

The deceased constable was a resident of Karvapad village in Jagdalpur.
