Ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar addressed a convention of BJP booth workers here on Sunday through a video message from a hospital in the U.S. The meeting was chaired by BJP national president Amit Shah.

“For the last two months, on account of ill health, I have been abroad for treatment and I could not meet you,” Mr. Parrikar said in Konkani.

“But the treatment is working well and I hope that in the coming few weeks I will join you with more vigour.”

Mr. Parrikar said that for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be re-elected to power with a full majority in 2019, it was essential that Goa returned its two BJP MPs to the Lok Sabha.
