‘Helpless’ U.P. govt should resign, says Ulema Council

October 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:12 am IST - Lucknow:

Describing the Dadri incident as an attempt to polarise votes ahead of Bihar polls, Rashtriya Ulema Council on Thursday said the U.P. government should resign if it was “helpless” in checking elements who foment communal tension.

National president of the Council, Maulana Aamir Rashadi, alleged that both SP and BJP are together ‘in the game of communalism’.

“The onus of communal incidents is put on the BJP and RSS... I have a question for UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav... If BJP and RSS are so strong under their government they should hand over power to them...The reality is that both SP and BJP are together in the game of communalism.”

“It is true that communal forces are playing a heinous game but the SP government is the real culprit for such incidents in the state,” he said.

Maulana Rashadi had contested the last Lok Sabha polls against SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav from Azamgarh.

Referring to the Dadri incident as an attempt to polarise votes in view of the Bihar polls, he also questioned the SP for breaking away from the grand alliance.
