Haryana Government on Wednesday approved the implementation of Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana in the State and decided to implement ‘Relocation Policy’ for shifting of Industries operating in residential areas in the interest of industrial units and public at large.

The decision to approve the implementation of Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojan and ‘Relocation Policy’ for shifting of industries was taken in the Haryana Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Later Khattar told reporters that the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana is a policy for providing affordable plotted housing for low and medium potential towns.

“It aims at development of ‘High Density Plotted colonies’ in low and medium potential towns of the State wherein small plots are made available through a liberal policy framework,” he said.

Mr Khattar said that under the scheme, all such projects shall be required to be necessarily completed within seven years from the date of grant of license.

The chief minister said the Cabinet decided to implement ’Relocation Policy’ for shifting of Industries operating in the residential areas in the interest of industrial units and public at large.

As per the policy, the State government will facilitate shifting or relocation of industrial units to the conforming areas.

He said in case of short fall of the industrial zone space, additional zones will be identified and notified by the Department of Town and Country Planning Department and Urban and Local Bodies as per their respective mandates, in consultation with the Industries department.

The Cabinet also approved that the Haryana Sports and Physical Fitness Authority will be registered as a Society. It will encourage, promote and develop physical activity and sports in Haryana and develop quality sports infrastructure.

The authority will be headed by Chief Minister who will be its president and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister would be the Vice-President.

Mr Khattar said the State government also decided to appoint ace shooter Harpreet Singh as Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Police Department for his outstanding performance in the 19th Commonwealth Games-2010 held at Delhi. - PTI
