Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya on Thursday administered the oath of office and secrecy to 10 Ministers — six as Cabinet and four in the rank of State in the Manohar Lal Khattar-led Bharatiya Janta Party-Jannayak Janta Party coalition government.

The six Cabinet-rank Ministers include six-time MLA Anil Vij (BJP), former Speaker Kanwar Pal Gujjar (BJP), MLA from Ballabhgarh Mool Chand Sharma (BJP), MLA from Rania Ranjit Singh (Independent), MLA from Loharu Jai Parkash Dalal (BJP) and MLA from Bawal constituency Banwari Lal (BJP).

Ministers of State with independent charge who were sworn-in include Om Parkash Yadav (BJP), who is MLA from Narnaul, Kamlesh Dhanda BJP’s MLA from Kalayat, Anoop Dhanak, the JJP’s MLA from Uklana and Sandeep Singh, the former Indian hockey team captain and BJP MLA from Pehowa.

The Haryana Cabinet can have 14 members, including the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister.

Mr. Khattar of the BJP on October 27 was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time while the JJP’s Dushyant Chautala took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of the State. However, no other Ministers were sworn in into the council of ministers along with the Chief Minister and his deputy.

The BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 40 seats in the Assembly polls, but fell short of six seats to form the government on its own. The BJP and the JJP, which secured 10 seats, decided to come together to form an alliance government in the State.
