Haryana asks Centre to set up fire management institute at Ambala

October 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:16 am IST - Chandigarh:

The Haryana government on Thursday asked the Centre to set up a Fire and Industrial Safety Management institute, saying at a time when a number of industrial units were operating from the State, it lacks such a facility which will help impart training to employees and students of northern States.

In a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said a number of world famous industrial units were located in Haryana and its neighbouring States, which warrants the establishment of a fire management institute there. Industrial units like of Maruti, Escort, Hero, Eicher, Honda, and Atlas have a strong manufacturing base in Haryana. A trained manpower in Fire and Industrial Safety Management discipline is required for these units, he said. Vij added. - PTI
