Gunmen open fire outside J&K Bank in Shopian, injure policeman

The gunmen decamped with the service rifle of the injured constable guarding a Jammu and Kashmir Bank brach at Kachdoora in Shopian.

Gunmen fired at and injured a constable outside a bank in Shopian district of Kashmir and decamped with his service rifle, police said.

The gunmen opened fire on a police party guarding Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Kachdoora in Shopian, resulting in injuries to constable Sartaj Ahmad, a police official said.

The gunmen decamped with the service rifle of the injured policeman, who has been rushed to a hospital.

Security forces have launched an operation to track down the gunmen, the official said.
