A grenade was recovered on Friday by the security forces in border city of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said here.

The live grenade was recovered in Dongus Mohalla in Poonch city this morning, they said, adding it was later defused.

The grenade was found laying close to the house of the father-in-law of Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla. The house was, however, closed as the family is living in Jammu.

The grenade was old and rusted, a senior police officer said, adding “It has nothing to do with any militancy incident.”
