Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Monday said that he will sign papers immediately to further extend by six months the ban on the entry of Sri Ram Sene, Hindu rightwing outfit and its leaders like Pramod Muthalik, in the State of Goa.

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of a function on Monday, he said he was not aware that the ban imposed under Section 144 of Cr P C came to an end on Saturday. The government had imposed the ban after Mr. Muthalik and other leaders of the Karnataka-based outfit repeatedly threatened to set up their office in Goa.

Recalling Sene's activities in Mangalore and other areas, local civil society members, groups, including Goa Catholic Association had urged government not to allow the outfit in Goa fearing it could vitiate State’s social fabric and peace.

The Sene has repeatedly questioned the ban saying it was most unjustified.
