A senior official of the State-owned Bal Bhavan, a centre for child development, on Thursday filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell of the Goa Police saying its website was hacked.

The complaint lodged by Shashikant Punaji, project officer, Bal Bhavan, said that unknown persons had hacked into the autonomous body’s official website, www.goabalbhavan.in, and inserted “irrelevant and offensive words” on a post regarding an inter-state cultural programme, originally uploaded in 2017.

A senior police official from the Crime Branch of Goa Police said that the complaint from Bal Bhavan has been received at the Cyber Cell and a preliminary inquiry is under way.
