A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in her house on the premises of the College of Military Engineering (CME) here, the police said on Wednesday.
Police also found the body of a 24-year-old, suspected to be behind the crime, on the campus, an officer said, adding that he might have committed suicide. Prima facie, police said the accused, whose name has been withheld, committed the crime after the girl’s mother, a widow, spurned his proposal.
