A key dialogue began here today between agitating students of FTII and Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in a bid to end the four-month strike at the Pune institute over the demand for the removal of actor Gajendra Chauhan as its chairman.

The latest meeting follows several rounds of talks between the students and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry officials to break the deadlock at the premier film institute.

Neither side has budged from its stance as the students seek Mr. Chauhan’s removal as the head of the FTII council and the government having rejected that demand. In the >last meeting between the two sides on October 10 in Mumbai, it was decided that the students would meet Mr. Rathore, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, for the next round of talks.
