Former Goa Minister Pacheco surrenders

June 02, 2015 12:58 am | Updated 12:58 am IST - PANAJI:

The former Goa Minister and MLA, Mickky Pacheco, surrendered before a court in Margao on Monday. He was absconding for nearly two months following his conviction in a case of assault on a government servant.

He was later formally arrested by Goa police and sent to Sada jail in Vasco in south Goa after medical check-up.

Responding to the developments, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary and spokesperson Durgadas Kamat accused the BJP of shielding Mr. Pacheco, the chief of the Goa Viaks Party, an ally.
