The Juvenile Justice Board in Ahmedabad has found five teenage boys guilty of gang raping a three-year-old girl, and ordered their remand at a special home for boys for nine months.

The Board’s Chairman pronounced the order on July 14, in the case dating back to January 12. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Danilimda police station.

The victim was going to buy chocolate from a store, when she was waylaid, raped and sodomised by the boys aged between 12 and 15. After launching a search, her parents found her lying unconscious near the Chandola Lake. They rushed her to the civil hospital where the doctors confirmed rape.

The juveniles were immediately arrested after the incident. The case charge sheet listed 41 witnesses.
