The State government on Wednesday directed the Solapur district dairy development officer to file an FIR against Lokmanagal Multistate Cooperative society, headed by Cooperation Minister Subhash Deshmukh of the BJP.

Two weeks ago, a ₹24-crore contract granted to the society was cancelled after a departmental report concluded that Mr. Deshmukh’s society submitted forged and fabricated documents from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board in Pune and Solapur; the Industrial Security and Health Department, Solapur; the Food and Drug Administration, Solapur; and Deputy Divisional Engineer, Public Works Department, North Solapur.

As per the letter from Rajesh Govil, additional secretary, Animal Husbandry department, sent on November 27 to Commissioner, Dairy Development, an FIR needs to be filed as at least seven to eight certificates submitted by the Lokmangal society were found to be fake.

The letter asked the Commissioner to file an FIR in the concerned local police station at Solapur.
