A day after the four members of a Dalit family were set ablaze in Sun Perh village, the anger of the Dalit families of the village spilled over to the roads of Faridabad on Wednesday with demonstrations throughout the day.
The agitated Dalit families, including the women and children, took to the streets of the village as soon as the bodies of the two kids -- Vaibhhav (2 years) and Divya (10 months) -- reached the village around noon.
Anger over the death of the innocent children was palpable with the groups of Dalit young men shouting slogans against the adminstration and the Rajputs. Soon it was decided to keep the dead bodies on the road and block the traffic on the nearby Kalindi Kunj-Faridabad bypass in support of the demands of the family.
The bodies of the kids, wrapped in white clothes, were taken kept in the middle of the road in the ice and were surrounded by the women of the village. While the youth formed a human chain around the bodies, another man made annoucement on a public address system from a jeep parked near by. “It is the time to show solidarity to the cause of Dalits. We won't budge from our place till our demands for the immediate arrest, government job, free treatment and CBI probe are agreed to,” said the voice from the jeep, provoking the crowd.
